Finally I have LIVED I was gonna paint it, but I'll take me an eternity to finish, so I cel-shaded it.
I wonder what Sky and Time gonna do with Twilight, and the Ancient hero was like: "And these guys are Hyrule's only hope? I must be rolling in my grave right now. :/"
hahah it's really cool seeing Link(s) with some emotion! (that's what surprised me in skyward sword) Who's the one int the centre? His facial expression reminds me a little of Groose. These are all really well done. I'm going to start with the clothing. The way you draw the pleats and folds is really spectacular and well done, the shading is spot-on as well. The little differences between the outfits like the gloves and belts and earrings really give it nice variety...but I have to agree with the previous critic that the chainmail is a bit sloppy...but I don't blame you--I once tried to draw a chain-link fence one link at a time, and it was torture! I think maybe you'd have been better off either not including the chain mail. or just making it fold more symmetrically with the clothes so they're less noticable...they look kind of fluffy, the way you drew the rounded edges on the Link on the left. The one on the right's chainmail looks a whole lot nicer. I also really like how you used such a variety of colours in this picture, (hair, skin, clothes,) despite the fact that they're basically all the same person in the same outfit (kinda ) and the glowing yellow lights and other such effects in the foreground and background make it look really nice and well-lit. (Oh! You totally should have drawn a fairy somewhere in here! Like Navi of tatl or that purple/red one. ) Now, I don't know much *cough-anything-*cough* about the manga an\d the guy in the background, but I really like the foggy, faded colours you veiled him in so he's not distracting from the main piece. I have to say his face looks a little too cartoony...his nose, specifically. I think maybe it should be bigger, or just more naturally shaped? Otherwise the anatomy's perfectly stylized, except for maybe the hands, as you've heard. Otherwise, i really admire your skills and knowledge on anatomy...I still need to work on that a lot. And the facial expressions on the Links are really nicely done, even if they're a little out of character...like the guy in the middle--he just looks a little creepy. (But a well-drawn creepy. ) Overall, this is really amazing. I love the shading, the anatomy, the folds, the colours...it's just really great all around! I haven't mention the background yet, so I want to tell you it looks amazing. I really like thw watercolour-like splotchiness--it adds to the mystery of the man in the background, and gives the whole thing a mystcial vibe, with the help of the little lights. The expressions are very...expressive, and the vision of it all is just so nice to look at. Okay, I'm done now. I hope to see more stuff like this, so I'm off to your gallery.
first off, your expressions are spot on, as usual. i laughed looking at Time's face, it's just... sly, in a way, perfect, and Twilight doesn't seem very amused, whereas Sky is usual, his chipper self. you captured their personalities, so kudos on that.
i like the red cape on the unidentified Link, and he looks so serious, which i find to be a redeeming quality for him, since he's the first hero. and it's a good design you came up with for him.
the background fits nicely too, and the texture for it is pretty good.
now onto the cons.
what first stuck out to me was Sky's hand. it's really tiny, and that's what i notice about your art, your hands are usually pretty small. the hand is roughly the same size of the face, so next time you draw a hand, try to mentally calculate the length of the face, and implement that to the hand. try it yourself, see how your hand fits on your face from your chin to your forehead, it doesn't cover the full size, so you should implement this to drawing as well.
the same thing for Time's hand, our left, his right. it's really small in comparison to his face, yet, his other hand seems appropriate. the hands don't seem to balance each other out, one is larger than the other.
also, for Twilight, i think you should have added his fingers poking out from under his arm, it would look more like he's crossing his arms that way.
what i like about your Links is that you don't give them SFS, (same face syndrome), despite them being all Link, you acknowledge that each of them has a different facial structure, so that's a positive!
also, what i noticed, sky's arm is really short as well. his wrist should equal the length up to his hip approximately? idk, i'm bad with anatomy i'm sorry pff. but his arm is really short, i'd recommend looking up anatomy tutorials on here for a more solid grasp on how anatomy works. granted, my own isn't great, but i can still see that his arm is pretty wonky.
as usual, i really like the way you color. it's so eye-popping, and even if you just stuck to the regular cel-shading, it still looks good.
the chainmail looks pretty lazy though, i'm not good with chainmail either, but maybe next time you should try shading each piece individually, if that makes sense?
another thing, their heads seem a bit big, it's not too noticeable, but maybe their heads should just be a bit smaller, not even that much smaller, but they unbalanced on their bodies, imo.
what also stuck out for me was the hero's face in the back, he looks really angular, the face anatomy is a little bit weird, i'm not sure how cartooning style works, since i work with semi-realistic, but maybe you should look up tutorials on profiles to help?
but all in all, i like this piece, it's cute, and your depiction of link is always a joy to look at, you give them all their own personalities that really shine through in the art.
the hair is lovely. and i love the red tones you use to shade your art.
